MagicShutterPhotography.com: About Me

I have always liked taking pictures, and my first camera was a Kodak Brownie, but I was always a kind of "point and shoot " type of photographer. In March of 2006, I was helping out at a dress rehearsal of our High School production of "Les Mis", just being an all-around trouble shooter for the performers. which I have done for many years. The Executive Director of the Performing Arts Center, who generally takes all the pictures was so busy that he turned to me and said, "Cate, do you think you could take some pictures?" Dumbstruck, (which I rarely am), I just gaped as he handed me his Rebel, and gave me a few quick instructions. If it had been a movie, fireworks and music would have then happened, as the 57 yr old heroine (me) would have her life changed.

Since then, I have been learning as much as I can, allowing me to improve my techniques. Now, instead of "marching to the beat of a different drummer" ( I am, after all, a child of the 60's). I jump on my Magic carpet and see "A Whole New World".
